Some of the benefits we offer
Newbury Electronics offers you the knowledge and experience of a company which has been manufacturing PCBs for 46 years. We are constantly improving our production methods. These are some of the benefits we can offer:
- All our production processes are in-house. We are not dependent on outside contractors for critical processes such as photo-plotting, multi-layer bonding or electrical testing.
- No more solder paste printing problems. Our Hot-Air-Solder-Levelling is flat because we use newly installed equipment designed with SMD in mind.
- Reduced assembly problems because of missing holes or components that won’t fit the hole. We use drill machines with automatic loading of panels and automatic laser checking of drill sizes and drill breakage detection. The machines will not drill unless they detect a drill of the correct size.
- Reduced incidence of solder-balling during reflow of solder paste because we apply a smooth satin finish solder resist by means of a curtain coat machine. You can reduce your re-work costs.
- Better long-term reliability of your assembled product because we plate at least 25 microns of copper down the barrel of even the smallest hole. Z-axis cracking during thermal cycling is eliminated. We plate using the new Reverse Pulse Plating technique and sample every PCB batch 5 times for the integrity and thickness of through hole copper plating.
- Reduced re-work because we electrically test every multi-layer PCB we make, no matter what the complexity. On small and medium batches we use fixtureless roving probe test techniques which saves you money on tooling costs.
- Reduced final test costs because our multi-layer PCBs have consistent electrical impedance characteristics. We X-ray drill every multi-layer panel to ensure that the registration of internal and external layers is optimised and remains within tolerance.
- Minimise production delays because of design errors. We perform a range of design rule checks. If we find an error, we can correct it (with your approval) and re-create photographic tooling within the hour because all our tooling facilities are in-house.
- Our component idents are clearer because we use a high pigment oven cured legend ink rather than the cheaper low pigment UV cured process..
- All boards are vacuum packed in anti-static bubble wrap giving instant visibility of type & quantity, plus longer shelf life and lower moisture absorption. This reduces re-work after wave soldering.
- Getting us on your approved supplier list is easy. Our approach to quality is supported by UL and BS EN ISO 9002 approvals.
