When thinking about electronics and circuit boards the discussion of movie robots often comes up and since there have been many movies that feature robots and AI computers manufactured from all kinds of circuit boards, solder stencil and electronic parts.

There are the obvious choices such as Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, Wall-E and the Star Wars duo of C-3PO and R2D2 but some obscure choices can come up once you delve deeper into cinema’s history. Have a look at this list of top 50 robots and AI computers in the movies.

As you can see from scanning down the list there are a wide range of robots that vary in appearance. Some are designed to look like humans where as others are square robots that travel around on caterpillar tracks. Some of them have shiny metal exteriors that don’t show any of the wires and circuitry powering them on the inside where robots like Johnny 5 was all of his parts visable.
