Newbury Electronics are the smart choice for boards and assembly

Founded in 2012, SmartSentry Ltd is an embedded systems design consultancy that assists its customers with the design of a wide range of products. They have particular expertise in the design of smart monitoring and management systems, but have worked on projects as diverse as a simple motion sensor to trigger the illumination of an LED unit, a medium complexity temperature monitoring system for Data Centres, through to a high complexity sports wearable device.

Mike Gardner, founder & MD, atSmartSentry, explained more; "Most of our customers approach us with an idea that needs to be turned into a working prototype within two to three months. We are able to handle any or all of the circuit schematic, PCB routing and firmware design phases of the project. However, when it comes to PCBs for our prototype and production volumes we use Newbury Electronics exclusively." Mike had worked with Newbury Electronics in a previous role and after a less than satisfactory experience with an overseas supplier in the early days of SmartSentry, he made the decision to re-establish the link with them.

Linux based control system Philip King, managing director at Newbury Electronics, said; "In the last five years we have received around 20 different designs and manufactured around 7000 individual boards for SmartSentry and I'm delighted to say that there hasn't been a single issue."  The company prides itself on the electronic design knowledge of its staff and has made significant investment in the latest production equipment and technology over the last six years.

"We send the design files and the products turn up a few weeks later. It just happens;" commented Mike. He continued; "Inevitably there will be queries but the team at Newbury have the knowledge and understanding to work with us and our designs. They are highly responsive and we look forward to working with them on future projects."
