PCB fabrication, assembly, and design facilities are based in Newbury, with the production route agreed around the PCB specification, quantity, technical requirements and supply needs.
Take the complete route, or engage Newbury for an individual manufacturing or engineering task.
Industrial PCB programmes can involve different construction, material, assembly and supply requirements. The specification should be agreed around the application, product stage and required production route.
Layer count, blind or buried vias, controlled impedance, rigid or flex construction and other board requirements can be reviewed before quotation.
Material choice, thickness, copper weight and surface finish can be specified for the required board construction, including FR4, polyimide and PTFE options.
3D AOI, X-ray, functional testing, traceability, cleaning and the applicable IPC acceptance criteria can form part of the assembly requirement.
Prototype and small-batch manufacture can be followed by an agreed production route based on specification, quantity and supply requirements.
DFM, DFT, PCB layout and electronic design support can be considered alongside fabrication and assembly where required.
Providing complete Gerber, drill, material and layer-build information, plus BOM, placement, test and quantity details for assembly, assists the quotation process.
We support industrial OEMs and engineering teams with PCB fabrication, assembly and electronic design support for products where construction, materials, inspection, testing and repeatable production need to be defined around the application.
PCB fabrication and assembly for control electronics, with construction, inspection and production requirements defined for the application.
Support for sensing and instrumentation hardware where PCB construction, materials and assembly requirements need to be matched to the product.
PCB and assembly support for robotics and motion electronics, including rigid, flexible and rigid-flex board options where specified.
Manufacturing support for power and energy electronics, with board materials, assembly, inspection and test defined around the build requirements.
PCB fabrication and assembly for test equipment where construction, signal requirements, inspection and functional testing form part of the specification.
Manufacturing and assembly support for monitoring electronics, from early builds through to repeat production where required.
The exact gates depend on product maturity, but the route from requirement to production follows the same five stages for every industrial programme.
Share design data, target quantities, environmental and performance needs, timescales and relevant compliance constraints.
Review PCB construction, laminate choice, component availability, DFM, DFT, cost drivers and the evidence needed for quotation.
Build early hardware, inspect and test it, capture issues and control design revisions before a larger batch is committed.
Use controlled pilot or pre-production builds to validate repeatability, test coverage, documentation and acceptance criteria.
Move to the agreed production route with the quality, inspection, traceability and documentation requirements established for the programme.

Scope of AS9100 accreditation. Newbury Electronics Ltd is certified to ISO 9001:2015, and to the AS9100D / EN9100:2018 aerospace quality standard across two certificates: fabrication of printed circuit boards (certificate FM 833030) and electronic assembly and procurement (certificate FS 719374). Design and conformal coating activities are not covered by these certifications unless subcontracted to an external accredited supplier.
Assembly build standard. Newbury Electronics builds electronic assemblies aiming to achieve IPC-A-610 Class 2. Only Class 1 is guaranteed unless a higher class is agreed in writing before manufacture.
Look for a manufacturer that can match the PCB construction, assembly, quality and supply requirements of the application. Newbury Electronics provides UK PCB fabrication and assembly, with electronic product development support through Newbury Innovation, and publishes its quality approvals and certificate scopes.
Newbury’s published PCB fabrication information lists a wide variety of laminates including FR4, polyimide and PTFE material options, alongside finishes including immersion silver and ENIG. Material, thickness, copper weight and layer build can be specified for the required board construction.
Post-PCBA cleaning requirements can be agreed around the assembly specification and applicable IPC acceptance criteria but cleaning capabilities meet IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 and MIL-STD-883 standards.
Newbury Electronics builds electronic assemblies aiming to achieve IPC-A-610 Class 2, by IPC-certified staff. Only Class 1 is guaranteed unless a higher class is agreed in writing before manufacture.
